Paul Starker, MD

Dr. Paul Starker is a board-certified general surgeon at Overlook Medical Associates and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is chairman of the Department of Surgery at Overlook Medical Center and the director of surgical education. He is clinical professor of surgery at Columbia University and is the associate program director for the surgical training program, also affiliated with Overlook Medical Center.

Dr. Starker has been named as a Top Doctor in New Jersey, Metro New York, U.S. News & World Report and Castle Connolly Medical -- America's Top Doctors on several occasions. As the author of many peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, he is also Teacher of the Year for 2007 from the Columbia Surgical Training Program.

His received his bachelor of arts degree from Harvard University, cum laude. He obtained his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and did his residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He had his fellowship in Surgical metabolism and critical care at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and won the Blakemore prize for resident research in 1982 and 1986.

Dr. Starker sees patients at Overlook Medical Center. He is affiliated with Atlantic Medical Group and is a participating provider of Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
